About Manasa Jyothi

Manasa Jyothi is a founded residential school for children with a mental and/or physical handicap. Manasa Jyothi Trust is happy to inform that we just opened a new school in Koni, Kundapura, India. The school is located in a beautiful area where there is a lot of green area, and a playground for the children to play. Manasa Jyothi is a small school that has grown over the last ten years, and now has around 20 children. This gives us an environment with a large range of staff with various skills and expertise where the child can be appreciated as an individual. And now with the new building in Koni, we can happily say that there no better place for a disabled child in India to be than in Koni, India.

The school is not funded by the government but by a private Trust and does not ask the parents for any fee. Therefore Manasa Jyothi provides, for disabled children without parents or with parents, who cannot or do not want to care for them, a place to live and receive education. For some children this school is their only chance in society.

Manasa Jyothi Trust was started in 2000 with support from a local Trust. The Trust continues to be active and needs a lot of support.

The school is actively managed by Shobha Madhyastha and Maartje van den Brand a Physiotherapist from The Netherlands.
